Successful Viral Competition

Built on our web development platform with full Twitter & Facebook social media integration UK Worker of the Year was a viral competition website designed by Deep Blue Sky to drive entries to Dickies' UK Worker of the Year competition.

Deep Blue Sky is very proud to be helping Dickies, the leading workwear brand, find the UK's most deserving worker.

Yesterday, 29th April 2010, we launched ukworkeroftheyear.com a website where any of the UK's workforce can put themselves forward for this prestigious prize.

Capitalising on Social Media

We wanted to make sure that the competition and the Dickies brand reach as many people as possible while the competition is running to ensure a rich seam of candidates from which to judge the finalists.

So we're delighted that Dickies have agreed to our addition of a "Peoples' Choice" award, voted for by the general public, to run in the months of June, July, August and September.

Holding a public vote allows us to encourage those who enter to spread the engagement of the competition to their friends and family through the common social networking channels such as Twitter and Facebook.

Rapid Web Development

We're very proud that the whole site was designed, built, tested and launched in just a couple of weeks to meet some pretty strict press deadlines.  This rapid development of intricate systems is only possible because of our development framework, Spirit, on which all our web solutions are based.
